Getting Involved: Service Opportunities

at New Life Church

There are number of service opportunities available to anyone who participates in our congregation. New Life Church partners with other local organizations to provide food for the hungry, treatment for the addicted, support for the elderly, etc. Sunday services and other gatherings are made possible through helping hands, strong voices, and servant hearts that handle all the moving parts necessary to make our services welcoming and functional. When folks connected with New Life Church go through challenging events and circumstances, various meal ministries provide comfort and sustenance to the broken hearted. Consider participating in one or more of the service opportunities listed below. For more information concerning any of these service opportunities, email info@newlifechurchcalabash.com or use the contact link to submit your inquiry.

New Life Service Opportunities

  • SBIC FOOD PANTRY

New Life Church is a partner with the South Brunswick Interchurch Council (SBIC) in the ministry of The Lord's Food Pantry, providing food for needy families in Brunswick County. The SBIC Food Pantry now operates at the former  Soundhouse at 3610 Express Drive in Shallotte.  New Life Church sends a group of volunteers on fifth Saturdays to distribute the food and usually the day before to pack the bags.

  • Hospitality Ministries

New Life Church seeks to be a welcoming place for friends and strangers and a source of comfort for those who are hurting. Hospitality volunteers help us do that by preparing coffee and refreshments for Sunday morning, coordinating and assisting with fellowship meals, and providing food and meals for the sick, the hurting, and the bereaved.

  • Sunday Service Operations

We are blessed to have access to the assembly space at The Brunswick Center for our Sunday morning worship and other corporate gatherings. Transforming that space into a space for worship requires the assistance of a number of volunteers to set up chairs, tables, audio/visual equipment, etc. Additional volunteers assist with greeting, parking, and clean up.

  • Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc

Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. (BSRI) is a non-profit organization serving the needs of seniors throughout Brunswick County. The Brunswick Center at Calabash is a local outpost of BSRI, serving meals and providing programs for seniors in the Calabash area, with plans to offer after-school programs for children and youth in the future. As a tenant of The Brunswick Center at Calabash, New Life Church considers BSRI our neighbors whom we seek to serve.

  • Music ministry

Music is an important part of the worship services at New Life Church. Our Praise Team leads us in a blend contemporary songs and traditional songs, complemented occasionally by a special number by our choir. Our rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings.

  • To be determined...

Service opportunities often emerge right in our midst, beginning with a need we discover or a request from someone in our church or community.  As we settle in to our new location in Calabash and listen to the needs of our Brunswick area communities, we anticipate discovering new opportunities to love and serve our neighbors. Check this page regularly to discover new opportunities to serve others in partnership with New Life Church.
