Mercy Ministry at New Life Church

Motivated by the incredible mercy that God has shown us, the Mercy Ministry of New Life Church exists to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to people inside and outside of our congregation through deeds of mercy. Led by the Diaconate — composed of the elected Deacons and commissioned Deaconesses and Deacon Assistants of New Life Church — the Mercy Ministry facilitates, coordinates, and celebrates ministries that assist those with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through tangible actions which provide support, comfort, companionship, and compassion.

If you have a need, see a need, or want to partner with the Diaconate in mercy ministry, please contact the church office (contact information is at the bottom of this page) or go to the "Contact New Life Church" link on our website (/contact-new-life-church) and submit your request, suggestion, or offer to serve.

  • Meals on Wheels

A number of individuals from New Life Church serve as volunteers with Meals on Wheels through Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. (BSRI), a non-profit organization serving the needs of seniors throughout Brunswick County. Volunteers are needed in food preparation, packing, and delivery, especially since the onset of COVID-19 and the closing of the local senior centers to the public. Contact BSRI to volunteer, https://bsrinc.org/program/homebound-meal-delivery/.

  • THE Lord's food pantry

New Life Church is a partner with the South Brunswick Interchurch Council (SBIC) in the ministry of The Lord's Food Pantry, providing food for needy families in Brunswick County. The SBIC Food Pantry is open every Saturday morning from 10am to noon at 4807 Main St., Shallotte, NC in the Fellowship Hall of Camp United Methodist Church. New Life Church sends a group of volunteers on fifth Saturdays, three to four times per year. Email info@newlifechurchcalabash.com to volunteer.

  • Mercy fund

New Life Church has designated a mercy fund in order that as a church we may assist individuals and groups with particular situational needs from time to time. New Life Church deacons, deaconesses, and/or elders review requests for assistance and manage distribution of resources. To donate to this fund, contact the church office at info@newlifechurchcalabash.com for more information.
