"See, I am doing a new thing!", God declares (Isaiah 42:10), and the New Life Church story is a picture of the kinds of "new things" God does. Almost two decades ago a small group of Christians planted Sunset Beach Community Church. In March 2017, the church went through a transformation process under the leadership of its new pastor, Terry Maner and during this period we changed our name to New Life Church. On August 5th, 2018 the church began meeting in The Brunswick Center at Calabash, which has provided the congregation a gathering place for corporate worship and an office for a base of operations. In 2021 when our pastor accepted another ministry call, God led us to Chris Gregory, our current pastor. Pastor Chris, Reba his wife, and their seven wonderful children have recently moved from Charlotte to Shallotte. Currently Pastor Chris is going through the Gospel of Matthew, one verse at a time.
What’s in the name? New Life is what God offers us through salvation when we accept for ourselves what Jesus provided through His death on a cross, and we make Him our Lord, our Savior and our King. New Life is what God offers anyone — old or young, rich or poor, no matter who you are, what you've done or not done, or where you're from — through Christ. New Life is what the good news of the gospel is all about, and new life is what God is bringing to our church, our community, and our world. We are New Life Church, and we're excited about the "new things" God will continue to do in us and through us and around us in the days ahead.
We'd love to have you become part of the story of New Life Church. Join us at The Brunswick Center at Calabash each Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. as we continue the journey God sets before us.
